Live stream moderator dashboard
A custom tool for a live-stream seller who hosts alone. It reads the live chat, groups the questions, answers the routine ones and suggests replies for the rest, so one person can keep up with a busy chat while still selling.
One host, hundreds of messages.
Our client is a live-stream seller on TikTok LIVE who runs every session alone: showing products, closing sales, running games and answering chat, all at the same time.
On a busy live the chat moves faster than one person can read. A dedicated moderator for every session wasn't realistic, so the brief was a tool that does the routine work and leaves the host in control.
- πThe same questions, again and againPrice, size, shipping. Each one buried a few seconds after it was asked.
- πNew viewers arrive unnoticedNo time to greet people one by one while presenting a product.
- π²Games need a second pair of handsKeeping score, tracking who claimed which slot and picking a fair giveaway winner.
A co-pilot for the chat, not a replacement.
Everything runs on the host's own MacBook. The AI only suggests; by default nothing it writes is sent without the host's OK.
Real-time chat dashboard
Reads the live chat as it happens and pulls questions out into their own grouped list, so nothing gets buried.
Auto-replies from rules
Editable keyword rules answer routine questions like shipping or payment, with rate limits so the bot never floods the chat.
Grouped welcomes
New viewers are greeted together in one message, drawn from many phrase variations so it never sounds repetitive.
Spam warning
Repeated or spammy messages are flagged and get a polite warning, keeping the chat readable for real buyers.
AI reply suggestions
A small language model runs locally with Ollama and drafts answers. The host approves, edits or skips; AI never auto-sends by default.
Learns from the host
When the host answers a question, the pair is saved as Q&A, so the next similar question gets a better suggestion.
Scoreboard reading
On-device OCR with macOS Vision reads the on-screen scoreboard, so scores don't have to be typed in by hand.
Live sound meter
A simple level meter shows at a glance whether the mic is too quiet or clipping during the live.
Game map & slot tracker
Viewers claim a letter by typing it in chat; the board updates instantly and shows which slots are still free.
Attendance & giveaways
An attendance list for the session plus a random picker, so giveaway winners are chosen fairly and on screen.
Works on a phone
Scan a QR code and the dashboard opens on a phone over the same Wi-Fi, handy when the laptop is busy streaming.
Free to run, protected
Runs free on a MacBook with Node.js and a Chrome extension. An access key keeps the dashboard private.

Illustration with demo data
From chat to answer in four steps.
A small local server sits between the browser and the dashboard. No cloud bill and no data leaving the laptop.
Read
A Chrome extension reads the chat from the host's own live page and passes each message to the local server.
Sort
The Node.js server sorts messages into questions, new viewers, spam and game moves, and groups similar questions.
Reply
Matching rules answer routine questions within their rate limits. Everything else gets a local AI suggestion for the host.
Approve
The host approves or edits from the dashboard on the laptop or a phone. Their answers become new Q&A for next time.
Built to run on the MacBook the seller already owns, with no paid servers or subscriptions.
