How Much Does a Small Business Website Cost in Singapore? (2026)

By Saffron Kite · · 7 min read

“How much will a website cost?” is the first question almost every business owner asks, and the honest answer is “it depends”. But “it depends” breaks down into a few clear parts. This guide walks through them one by one, with the ranges commonly quoted in Singapore in 2026, so you can compare offers fairly, including ours.

The short answer

A small business website has three cost parts: the domain (your address, such as yourbusiness.com), hosting (where the site lives, plus the SSL padlock) and the build (design, content and setup). From the second year you pay a renewal to keep it online.

For a simple, professional site, Singapore quotes commonly run from under S$1,000 for a one-page site to around S$6,000 for a small multi-page site. Agency builds with copywriting, SEO work or online payments often go well beyond that.

The number that surprises people is rarely the first invoice. It’s the bill in year two. Before you pay any deposit, ask: “What exactly will I pay next year?”

What you are paying for

The domain and hosting are fairly standard. The build is where prices differ most, because that’s where the actual work happens: planning the content, designing the pages, adding WhatsApp and map buttons, connecting the domain and submitting the site to Google. What moves the price:

  • Number of pages. A one-page site costs less than a five-page site with a gallery and separate service pages.
  • A product catalogue. Arranging dozens of products with photos, prices and categories takes real time.
  • Special features. Online payments, bookings with a calendar or member logins cost far more than an information site.
  • Who writes the words. Some providers only paste in text you supply; others write it with you.
  • Rounds of changes. Ask how many revisions are included in the price.

Commonly quoted price ranges in Singapore

The ranges below are rough figures compiled from pricing guides published by several Singapore web design firms in 2026. They are not an official survey, and every firm defines “basic” differently, so treat them as a sense of scale rather than a price list.

Type of siteCommonly quotedNotes
One-page landing page±S$800 – 3,500Check whether domain and hosting are included.
Basic business site (about 3–8 pages)±S$1,500 – 6,000Biggest differences: design quality, who writes the content, year-two cost.
Lead-generation site with copywriting and SEO setup±S$4,000 – 12,000Typical agency territory.
E-commerce with online payments±S$5,000 – 40,000+Depends on products, payment gateway and integrations.

By provider, the same guides put experienced local freelancers at roughly S$1,500–6,000 per project, small studios at around S$3,000–12,000, and agencies from about S$5,000 to S$25,000, with premium agencies quoting well above that. A cheaper quote isn’t automatically worse, and an expensive one isn’t automatically better. What matters is what’s included and what you’ll pay afterwards.

Domain: .com, .sg or .com.sg?

A .com is the simplest choice: anyone can register one, and it usually costs a few tens of dollars a year. A .com.sg signals a Singapore business, but it comes with rules. It’s meant for organisations registered in Singapore, so you’ll normally need your ACRA-registered UEN, and SGNIC (the .sg registry) requires the domain’s administrative contact to complete an identity verification shortly after registration.

Prices vary by registrar. In early 2026, common registrars listed .com.sg first-year promotions of roughly S$20–40, with renewals of roughly S$45–80 a year before GST. Two things to check whichever ending you choose:

  • Promo price vs renewal price. The first year is often discounted; the second year isn’t.
  • Whose name the domain is in. It should be registered to you or your company, not to the web designer. If you ever move to another provider, you should be able to take it with you.

Hosting, SSL and year two

Hosting is the space that keeps your site online 24 hours a day. Advertised low prices often apply only to the first term, sometimes with several years paid upfront, and renewals can be much higher. A lightweight site can run on efficient modern hosting at low cost. A WordPress site with a heavy theme and many plugins usually needs stronger hosting, and some plugins carry yearly licence fees.

A basic SSL certificate (the padlock in the browser) is widely available for free today. If someone charges a lot for standard SSL on a small business site, it’s fair to ask why.

The simplest way to compare offers is the two-year total: the year-one price plus the year-two renewal. A quote that looks cheap upfront can turn out to be the expensive one.

Hidden costs to watch for

None of these are wrong in themselves. The problem is when they aren’t mentioned until after you’ve paid.

  • Price jumps after the promo year on domain and hosting.
  • A domain registered in the provider’s name, with a “transfer fee” when you want to leave.
  • Fees for small content changes like a new price or photo, revealed only when you ask.
  • Paid themes and plugins that must be renewed every year.
  • Business email such as hello@yourbusiness.com, charged separately.
  • Extra revisions billed one by one once the included rounds run out.
  • No handover of site files if you stop paying, so you start from zero elsewhere.
  • A compulsory monthly maintenance fee with no clear description of what it covers.

What about grants?

You may have heard of the Productivity Solutions Grant (PSG). It only supports pre-approved solutions bought from pre-approved vendors listed on the GoBusiness portal, so it isn’t a general discount on any website. If a grant-supported package interests you, check the current list and funding level on GoBusiness yourself, and compare the price after the grant with simpler options. We are not a pre-approved vendor; our plans are priced to be affordable without a grant, and there’s no paperwork.

Questions to ask before you pay

  1. What is the total I’ll pay in year two? Ask for a number, not “we’ll let you know”.
  2. Whose name will the domain be registered in?
  3. Can I see examples on my phone? Most of your customers will open your site on a phone.
  4. How long will it take, and how many rounds of changes are included?
  5. How do I update prices or photos later, and what does it cost?
  6. If I leave, do I get my site files?
  7. What happens with Google? Be wary of anyone who guarantees “page one”. Nobody can honestly promise a ranking. What’s reasonable is a site that’s submitted to Google and built so search engines can read it easily.

A website also isn’t the only way to appear on Google. For a business with a location or service area, a free Google Business Profile matters just as much. See our guide to getting on Google Maps.

Where Saffron Kite fits

We’re a small web studio in Batam, Indonesia, a short ferry ride from Singapore, working with clients remotely over WhatsApp, email and video call. To be fair, here are our own prices using the same yardstick. Every plan includes a .com domain for one year registered in your name, hosting and SSL, WhatsApp and Google Maps buttons, Google Search Console setup and up to three rounds of changes.

Portfolio pricing (30% off) is for our first 3 clients, on the condition that we may show your site in our portfolio and you give us a short testimonial when it’s done. Extras are written down upfront too: a content update is S$35 per change, a care plan is S$40 a month, an extra page is S$120, Google Business Profile setup is S$150 one-time, and a .sg or .com.sg domain is charged at cost.

What we don’t do: online stores with automated checkout, or an admin panel for editing the site yourself. If either is a must for you, another provider will suit you better, and that’s fine.

How it works: we design your homepage as a free mockup first, with no obligation. If you like it, you pay a 50% deposit, review the full site on your phone, and pay the balance before it goes live on your domain. Invoices are in SGD. Full details are on our Singapore website plans page.
